No more motorcycles. Yep, it's what we may be facing after listening to another of Obama's inane, unthought out "plans" to bring about his "Change we can believe in." His latest quote ". . . [we must make America] fossil fuel free in our lifetime." Now how in the hell is he gonna make that happen? Investing in alternative energy sources. Right.
We've gotten twenty or thirty e-mails in the past couple of days from readers about the subject. We can't publish all the stuff we've been gettin' so I'll boil it down to what we're hearin':
What's gonna power our motorcycles? Our trucks? Our cars? Our boats? Our jet skis? Our four wheelers? Our air conditioners? Our blow dryers? Our lights? Our factories, our stores, our restaurants?
Are my kids and grandkids supposed to give up the 'leisure' things we've enjoyed through our hard work, and our ancestors' efforts of the past 200+ years?
I ain't a Harvard educated lawyer who despises America and what we've become (or how "we're seen by the rest of the world."), so I don't have the "book smarts" of Obama, but I am smart enough to know that there ain't no way in hell we can change America in ten or twenty years by goin' to 'alternative' energy sources without destroying our way of life and our economy. I love the biker lifestyle; I love America, what she stands for, where we started and where we are (mostly). I want the same, and better, for my kids and grandkids. That ain't gonna happen without oil for the next couple of generations. No doubt we need to continue the search for alternative energy sources (and American ingenuity and capitalism and a market economy will drive that), but that's gotta be in addition to developing America's oil potential through the market economy. We just need less government, not more ast Obama proposes.
